All Merwitz trims are made-to-order according to designers' specifications. All of the exquisite work is made by hand and color matched using a unique method of spoon dying on site. Tassel work is meticulously hand-tied from spun rayon, wool, cotton and silks onto trims woven on the looms. Turn-around time is four to six weeks. Merwitz is known for its prompt delivery and if a job can't be done in the time required, it won't be accepted. Available to the Trade The products of Mertwitz Textiles are available only to decorators/design professionals and those in the trade and is not available on a retail basis. Merwitz is accustomed to developing something extra special to attain the design their client seeks. Decorators have used Merwitz trims as their secret to give them the edge over competition. Over the years, Merwitz has done work for the White House, the Chicago Historical Society (reproductions of l890s fringe and tiebacks), Carnegie Hall and for the set of "The Untouchables," shot in Chicago, to name a mere handful.
